Psychology has interested me since I was 16 years old, when I read Carl Rogers’ book On Becoming a Person. In college I volunteered at a local crises line and confirmed that clinical work was my dream job. My dedication to the field led me to graduate school and eventually private practice. I am truly grateful to do such meaningful work, and I am appreciative of my clients who invite me to travel with them on their journey of personal growth and healing.
In my 30’s I faced an ongoing health concern. Through exploring various modalities including acupuncture and yoga, I came to embrace a holistic approach to wellness. Many of the practices I’ve learned can be shared with clients, where appropriate. These mind-body approaches include: meditation, yoga, guided imagery, mindfulness based exercises, and journal writing. I firmly believe your thoughts, emotions and lifestyle can be used to promote overall well-being.
Having a close, trusting relationship with your partner is also important to emotional balance. I have acquired skills and experience in couple therapy that can assist you in living your best life.
